The Anna Jaques Aid Association presented a $130,000 check recently to Anna Jaques Hospital.

Funds raised this year were designated to: to assist underinsured and uninsured low- to moderate-income patients in Seabrook, N.H.; the AJH Birth Center; Comprehensive Pain Clinic; Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology Suite; and Pediatric Psychiatric Unit. The donation was accepted at the group’s annual meeting last month by Mark Goldstein, president and CEO; David LaFlamme, chairman of the hospital’s board of trustees; and Matt Khatib, chair of the Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation.

The Aid Association’s success comes from annual events like Great Chefs’ Night; the AJH Gift Shop; special sales such as pies, plants and art; and Holiday Arts and Craft Fair. These events reflect the important role that the Aid plays in bringing together local businesses, community leaders, hospital supporters and philanthropic individuals in support of its community hospital.

The meeting also recognized retiring Aid directors Ellen Andrews, Joyce Enderle, Jan Ryan and Patricia Mansfield. New members welcomed were Stephanie Brough, Susan Carpenter, Ann DiFrancesco, Patty Doggett, Josie Dow, Ann Lynch, Michelle Miakos and Gail Zona, and new officers Karen Davis as corresponding secretary.

The Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association was founded in 1888. Its primary goal is to raise money to purchase special equipment for the hospital, and has provided millions of dollars over the years.
