By now, listeners to 97.9 WHAV FM and readers at WHAV.net and social media have heard of the radio station’s current fundraising effort to save local news. Frank Novak digs into the issue with WHAV General Manager Tim Coco during his “Point of Reference” series now airing over HC Media Channel 22.

Novak asks about WHAV’s current membership and sponsor drive and a looming Thanksgiving deadline. He remarks few people understand nonprofit WHAV is a public radio station—basically a Merrimack Valley version of Boston’s WGBH and WBUR.

The program airs tonight at 11 p.m. and Friday at 6 and 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Those who wish to become members may sign-up online at WHAV.net. Credit and debit cards are accepted and there is a “Bill Me” option.
