Greater Haverhill-Area Communities Observe Veterans Day with Parades, Ceremonies

Greater Haverhill-area communities are observing Veterans Day today with parades and ceremonies

Haverhill’s parade forms at 10 a.m., in front of 64 Kenoza Ave., with kick off at 10:30. The parade proceeds to Monument Square, down Main Street and to the Global Peace Monument on Ginty Boulevard where a ceremony takes place. A buffet lunch follows at American Legion Farm, 1314 Main St., Haverhill.

In Methuen, a parade forms at 9:30 a.m., at American Legion Post 122, 200 Broadway, with step off at 10. The route proceeds north on Broadway to the clock tower, left on Hampshire Street, left on Lowell Street past Central Fire Station and left on Grove Street to Walnut Grove for ceremony. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony takes place at the American Legion Post, 200 Broadway at 10 a.m.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Arnold Greenwood Post 8349 also holds a ceremony at the Veterans’ lot at Elmwood Cemetery, 130 North Lowell St., at noon.

Groveland’s ceremony takes place at 11 a.m., at the Central Fire Station, to honor all those who served or are serving in the armed forces.

Plaistow, N.H., hosts a Veteran’s Day Ceremony at 9:30 a.m. on the Town Green. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be in the Great Hall.
