Today’s Obituaries—Nov. 7: Karampelas, Lieber

John Karampelas, 92, died at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill Nov. 6 with his family by his side. An employee of his father’s Lafayette Square Puritan Ice Cream Store, Karampelas entered the Army after graduation from Haverhill High School and worked for Wonder Bread after leaving the service. A calling hour is planned on Friday, Nov. 8 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the St. Peter and St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, Winter Street, Haverhill. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in the church at 11:30 a.m. Burial follows in Linwood Cemetery, John Ward Avenue, Haverhill.

Raymond Ernest Lieber Jr., 89, of East Hampstead, died Nov. 5 at home surrounded by family. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he served in the Air Force during the Korean War as a Special Forces soldier and sharp shooter. He also worked at Raytheon and was a volunteer firefighter in Hampstead, N.H. Calling hours are Sunday, Nov. 10 from 2-6 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, N.H. Burial with military honors will be held for the family at a later date.
