Perry Beats City Council Chairwoman Kannan in Methuen Mayor’s Race

Methuen has a new mayor and his name is Neil Perry. With approximately 30 percent of city voters casting ballots Tuesday, Raytheon employee Perry is poised to succeed James P. Jajuga as the city’s next leader. He emerged victorious after earning 6,386 votes to City Council Chairwoman Jennifer Kannan’s 2,666 votes.

Nicholas DiZoglio, Jessica Finocchiaro and David “D.J.” Beauregard Jr. were elected as Methuen Councilors at-large. Allison Mary Saffie and Mike Simard received seats on the West District, while James McCarty and Joel Faretra represent the Central District and Eunice Delice Ziegler and Steven Saba represent the East District.

Methuen’s new School Committee members are Ryan DiZoglio, Karen Hallbauer, Susan Nicholson, Susan Nicholson, Jessica Mae MacLeod and Jana Zanni Pesce.
