Haverhill Police’s Lt. Lance Powell is a lifesaver! During a Wednesday ceremony at the Massachusetts Police Association’s annual convention in Plymouth, the group awarded the department veteran their Lifesaving Award.

Praising their brother officer on Facebook, the Haverhill Police Department recounted Powell’s actions in August 2018 that earned him the honor. In the social media post, Powell was recognized for responding to a call on Route 495 in which he tended to an unresponsive construction worker. Powell administered CPR, stabilizing the man before he was transported to a local hospital to undergo emergency heart surgery.

“The entire Haverhill Police Department extends our congratulations to Lt. Powell for receiving this well deserved honor,” the agency said.
