Ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Groveland Police Department is preparing to pay it forward by holding a “Stuff a Cruiser” food drive this Saturday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the rear parking lot of the police station, 181 Main St., to collect canned goods and non-perishable food items.

Run by Det. Steve Petrone, Groveland’s “Stuff a Cruiser” food drive is in its third year, with donations going to the Council on Aging and Sacred Heart Food Pantry, Chief Jeffrey Gillen tells WHAV.

Frozen turkeys are not accepted, but police are in need of items including canned fruit and vegetables, soups, baked beans, stuffing mix, peanut butter and jelly, dried pasta and pasta sauce, Gillen said.
