Haverhill native Dr. Alexandra Filippakis has joined Coastal Neurology Services in Dover and Portsmouth, N.H., she tells WHAV. The 33-year-old comes to the practice having completed a clinical fellowship in multiple sclerosis at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

She is a board-certified neurologist who served as chief resident at Boston’s Tufts Medical Center. Filippakis looks forward to providing care to patients on New Hampshire’s seacoast.

“A patient’s zip code shouldn’t determine their ability to access quality care,” Filippakis said. “I am proud to join Coastal Neurology Services because it will help to expand the options in the Seacoast area for expert neurological care in general and in my sub-specialty, multiple sclerosis, in particular.”

The 33-year-old, active in Haverhill’s Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine.
