Electra Bilmazes Gerber, 94, died Oct. 30 in Concord, N.H., after a brief illness.

Born and raised in Haverhill, she graduated Boston College with graduate work at Harvard and Brandeis University and attended Middlebury College’s Breadloaf School under Robert Frost. After working in publicity for Batten, Barton, Durstine and Osborn in New York, she moved to Boston in 1960 and opened Corporate lmages, a public relations firm specializing in cultural and commercial accounts that included Copley Plaza Hotel, King Saud and Richard Burton. She also served as the press coordinator for the WGBH Channel 2 auction.

She is predeceased by her husband Thomas W. R. Gerber, former editor of the Concord Monitor, and sister, former Haverhill Public Library Director Virginia Bilmazes Bernard. She leaves a niece, Heather Electra Bernard and her husband David Goudsward of Palm Beach, Fla., and stepdaughters Cheryl Ann of New York and Linda Lee Martin of Pennsylvania.

Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to the Stephen D. and Ethel Z. Bilmazes Fund of the Haverhill Public Library.
