The Hillies are embracing one of their own Tuesday night, Oct. 29 when junior Gabriela Vargas reads from her published book of poems “The Rhymes of My Times” during the school’s latest humanities lecture series event.
Starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Haverhill High School library, 137 Monument St., 15-year-old Vargas will offer a selection of poetry from her book that highlights love, pain, racism and lessons learned through the eyes of a teen. She’ll also sign copies of the book after the event, organizer Tom Jordan tells WHAV.
The event is free and open to all.
