The Haverhill Department of Public Works has planned a second curbside leaf collection day on Saturday, Nov. 9 as a result of the large amount of leaves that have fallen in recent weeks due to high winds and storms.

Leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags or open-top containers that do not exceed 50 pounds by 6 a.m. in order to be picked up. Loose leaves or grass in piles or plastic bags will not be collected. The DPW Recycling Center at 500 Primrose St., remains open six days a week for disposal of leaves and grass through Dec. 14, weather permitting.

Another curbside leaf pickup day is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7.
