Troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Andover Barracks helped ease the financial burden faced by Methuen’s Valentin family Tuesday when presenting a check donation on behalf of Cops for Kids With Cancer to two-year-old Soleil Valentin.

Diagnosed a year ago with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the boy and his family were nominated for the $5,000 donation to assist with medical and living expenses, the State Police said.

Cops for Kids With Cancer has donated more than $3.3 million to families in New England since it began in 2002.
