A Haverhill firefighter attempting to cut power to a home on the city’s State Street was injured Thursday morning and taken to a local hospital as a precaution, the firefighters’ union said on social media.
The first responder was sent with his crew to State Street after high winds knocked a tree onto power lines, which became energized and ignited. An update on his condition was not immediately available.
