Methuen Police are seeking the public’s help to identify those responsible for an early Sunday morning report of gunfire on the city’s Independence Drive.

According to Chief Joseph E. Solomon, officers were called to the area of 5-9 Independence Drive around 5 a.m. on Oct. 13 for a report of several shots fired and while shell casings were found nearby, no victims were located at area hospitals.

Witnesses reported hearing four or five shots and told police “several suspects” fled the area on foot before leaving the area in a silver Honda CRV and dark four-door sedan.
