An 18-year-old Lawrence teen suffering from several gunshot wounds drove himself to Holy Family Hospital after being shot Thursday night in Methuen, Police Chief Joseph E. Solomon tells WHAV.

At approximately 9:57 p.m., the police department received 911 calls for shots fired in the area of 189 Broadway, Huse Road and Brown Street, before Holy Family Hospital called to let them know the man had made his way to the main entrance of the emergency room.

The teen was MedFlighted to a Boston-area hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.

When officers were dispatched to all three locations, evidence of a shooting was found on Huse Road. Methuen Police Department Officer Tim Getchell and his explosive K-9 partner Buddy searched the area for firearms evidence with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police, Solomon said.

As the investigation continues, anyone with information is asked to call Methuen Police at 978-983-8698. Anonymous tips are accepted.
