Students and staff at Haverhill High School will see an increased police presence on campus Wednesday as school and law enforcement officials continue to investigate a “disturbing” Snapchat message, Principal Glenn Burns tells WHAV.

While the message did not reference school violence, the subject matter was concerning enough to involve police, said Burns, who was made aware of the threat Tuesday night.

“At Haverhill High, we take every incident as credible until we can prove otherwise and currently have this situation under investigation by the Haverhill Police Department,” Burns said.

Students attended classes as scheduled Wednesday and there is no current threat to the school.
