Gov. Baker to Speak at Toohey Council Fundraiser Tuesday at Maria’s

City Council hopeful Shaun P. Toohey hosts a fundraiser for his campaign Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Maria’s Restaurant, 81 Essex St., from 5:30-7:30 p.m. featuring remarks from Gov. Charlie Baker.

Toohey, a former School Committee member, is running against all nine incumbents. He also faces opposition on the ballot from newcomers Stavros Dimakis, Nicholas Golden, former Councilor Kenneth E. Quimby, Fred Simmons, Joseph P. Sherlock and Douglas Edison. Voters will also cast ballots for mayor and School Committee during Nov. 5’s municipal election.
