Today’s Obituaries—Oct. 4: Jeffrey, Lynch, Wholley

Roy W. Jeffrey, 96, of Plaistow N.H. died Tuesday, Oct. 1 after being a resident at Kirkwood Corners Assisted Living Facility in Lee, N.H. A United States Navy veteran, Jeffrey worked as a controller at Exeter Manufacturing Company before retiring with 25 years’ service from Western Electric. He also worked as a controller at Plaistow Cooperative Bank. Active in the Plaistow, N.H., community, Jeffrey was a longtime member of the Elderly Affairs Committee and, as a member of the Carl Davis Post of the American Legion of Plaistow, he earned the honorable distinction of being the New Hampshire American Legionnaire of the Year in 2013. Calling hours are Monday, Oct. 7 from 4-7 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, N.H. His funeral takes place Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors is Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the Village Cemetery, Walpole, N.H.

Rebecca “Becky” J. Lynch, 92, formerly of East Hartford, Conn., died peacefully on Sept. 28 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. Born in Haverhill, Lynch worked as a dental hygienist. Arrangements are under the direction of Dole, Childs & Shaw Funeral Home, 148 Main St., Haverhill, with burial at Riverview Cemetery in Groveland.

Edward F. “Ed” Wholley, 86, of Haverhill, died Monday, Sept. 30 at the Holy Family Hospital in Haverhill after a very brief illness. Employed by Whittemore Pontiac and Jaffarian Volvo Toyota in Haverhill, Wholley enjoyed following Haverhill High School sports. A private family gathering is being planned for a later date. Arrangements are by Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., Haverhill.
