Dan Trocki’s brothers in blue are standing behind him ahead of Nov. 5’s municipal election for Haverhill mayor. Last week, the Haverhill Police Patrolmen’s union voted to endorse their fellow officer as he faces off against incumbent James J. Fiorentini next month at the polls.

The union, headed by Det. Rick Welch, said Trocki’s commitment to the community and desire to better the city’s public safety sectors won them over.

“We believe in his plan for the future of this City. He has a vision to continue the positive growth of Haverhill and also provide the much-needed services to its citizens, such as education, public safety, and infrastructure improvements. Haverhill needs a leader who will truly represent its hard-working citizens and community,” the union tells WHAV in a statement.

Trocki currently serves as the vice president of the patrolmen’s union.

The police union’s endorsement follows that of the Haverhill Fire Department Local 1011, who lent their support to Trocki earlier this month. He has also received backing from Teamsters Local 170, which represents approximately 10 city departments and 130 city employees.
