Born in Greece, he came to America at 13 and worked in New York restaurants before relocating to Haverhill and managing the Dunkin’ Donuts at 614 Broadway. Frank W. Cairns, 73, of Haverhill, died on Sept. 25 at Boston Medical Center.
Born in Methuen, he worked for 39 years at Torromeo Industries, serving as a plant manager at the Kingston, N.H. location. Deborah A. (Beckford) Dumas, 65, of Nashua, N.H., died on Sept. 26, at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua, N.H. after succumbing to her courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born in Haverhill, she worked at her family’s store, Don’s Market in Hampstead, N.H., as the bookkeeper for 42 years. Robert S. “Snappa” Knapp, 70, died Sept. 26 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill with his family by his side. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was employed as a manager at Foss Manufacturing, New Balance and The Balmoral. A United States Air Force veteran, Student worked for Avco in Wilmington and for Massachusetts Port Authority at Logan Airport for more than 30 years.
