Haverhill Rep. Andy X. Vargas is scheduled to be on public television tonight to discuss what he learned during an August fact-finding mission to Central America.
He and Rep. Nika Elugardo talk with Jim Braude on “Greater Boston,” at 7 p.m., on WGBH-TV, channel 2. The two Massachusetts legislators traveled to Central America to learn firsthand about what’s driving migration from the area and contributing to the immigration and humanitarian crisis at the U.S. border with Mexico. They joined community leaders, legal experts and journalists to observe conditions in Honduras and El Salvador.
The one-week trip was funded by Alianza Americas, with support from Centro Presente and Lawyers for Civil Rights.
