Today’s Obituaries—Sept. 23: Kulik, Lesiczka, Mack, Sasso, Walker, Wyman

Anne L. Kulik, 64, of Haverhill, died peacefully surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center after a brief illness on Sept. 19. Kulik retired from Lucent. Visitation will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28 in the Linwood Cemetery Chapel, 41 John Ward Ave., Haverhill, beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Arrangements are by Driscoll Funeral Home, Haverhill.

Mary J. (Secorsky) Lesiczka, 92, of Haverhill, died peacefully with her family by her side on Sept. 21, at Wingate of Haverhill. Working for AT&T/Lucent as a coil winder, she also assisted at the Lesiczka Family Farm and loved to help her son Wally, of Wally’s Vegetables, pick beans and strawberries after her retirement. A life celebration is planned for Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 4-8 p.m. at Brookside Chapel & Funeral Home, 116 Main St., Plaistow, N.H. Her funeral begins on Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, 110 Lincoln Ave., Haverhill. Burial follows in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill.

Richard N. Mack, 77, husband of Bonita “Bonnie” F. (Chaffee) Mack, died Sept. 18 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. A United States Navy veteran, Mack was employed as a tanner at Hamel Leather in Haverhill and was a well-known bartender for many years at Smith’s Tavern in Haverhill. A life celebration is planned for Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at Smith’s Tavern, 124 Essex St., Haverhill. Arrangements are by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.

WWII Army veteran Enrico V. Sasso, 96, of Bradford, died Thursday Sept. 19 at his home. An adjunct professor for Northeastern University for several years, Sasso was instrumental in bringing the extension program to Haverhill. For over 47 years, Sasso was an educator in the Haverhill Public Schools at Haverhill High School, first as a teacher in the business department, later as head of the business department, and for the last 10 years as an assistant principal. He also served as a Eucharistic minister at Sacred Hearts Parish and was a founding member and former director of the Haverhill Teachers’ Municipal Credit Union. Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 4-7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. His funeral is Wednesday, Sept. 25 beginning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Burial with military honors takes place in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.

Cory D. Walker, 31, husband of the late Kellie A. (Lowney) Walker, who passed away in March, died Sept. 18 in Haverhill. A 2006 Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School graduate, Walker worked for Cliff Peters Plumbing before starting his own business. Calling hours are Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services follow in the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.

Lucy M. Wyman, 88, of Amesbury and formerly of Haverhill, died peacefully Sept. 20 at The Merrimack Valley Health Center in Amesbury. Employed with Ken’s Donuts on White Street in Haverhill, she retired from Lucent Technologies. She was a Brownie Troop leader for Haverhill Troop No. 147. Arrangements are in the care of The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill. A private graveside ceremony will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Haverhill.
