The English Beat Headlines Team Haverhill’s River Ruckus Saturday; Activities, Food, Fireworks Too

Internationally known ska pioneers, The English Beat, headline Team Haverhill’s River Ruckus this Saturday, Sept. 21, at Riverfront Park.

The musical group is one of several playing during the festival, which also features activities for children and adults, food, beer and wine and a fireworks finale at dusk.

The English Beat, appearing with founder Dave Wakeling, have made their name with singles including “Mirror in the Bathroom,” “Save It for Later” and “Too Nice to Talk To.” Regional favorites Entrain, from Martha’s Vineyard, will also perform. Entrain is a six-piece band known for infectious rhythms, funky drumming and inspired jams.

The all-day music-lineup also includes Bailen, Air Traffic Controller, The Alex Anthony Band and Life of the Party.

Team Haverhill’s River Ruckus starts at noon and also includes a Classic Car Show on Washington Street, The Kids Zone, Haverhill High School Rowing Crew exhibition, performance by the Haverhill High School Chorus, group Zumba, Queen Ann walking tour of Downtown Haverhill, Mural Talks at three downtown murals and a cash prize 50/50 raffle.

Beer enthusiasts will find premium drafts from Harpoon Brewery including Harpoon Octoberfest and Harpoon Rec League and specialty brews, including Clown Shoes Space Cake Double IPA and Clown Shoes Clementine. Wine will also be available including a Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and a Rosé.
