A Plaistow, N.H. woman who once owned and operated a popular downtown Haverhill bar pleaded guilty to embezzlement charges late last week and faces between 7 ½ and 15 years behind bars if convicted.
Terri Barlow, the former proprietor of Washington Street’s Terri’s Place, entered a guilty plea in Rockingham, N.H. Superior Court Aug. 29 before Judge Andrew R. Schulman and will be sentenced in October, court officials tell WHAV. She also faces a fine of up to $4,000.
According to court documents, Barlow made nearly $63,000 worth of unauthorized withdrawals from the bank account of Barlow Architectural Millworks owner Wayne Barlow—her former father-in-law—for her own gain, while working as the company’s bookkeeper.
The crimes were committed between 2012-2017, Hampstead, N.H. Police Det. Mark Conway said.
