Blacklisted Actress Returns on Radio Drama ‘Suspense’ Monday Night

Marsha Hunt, second from left, appeared at the White House in 1937 for President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Birthday Ball charity fundraiser to support what would later become the March of Dimes. Others are Frederick Jagel, Robert Taylor, Maria Gamberelli, first lady Eleanor Roosevelt, Jean Harlow, Mitzi Green and George Allen.

“Suspense” brings back another blacklisted performer with Marsha Hunt appearing in “The Last Kilometer,” Monday night over 97.9 WHAV FM.

Hunt, now 101, had her acting career shortened when she was accused of being a communist in 1950 and her name appeared in “Red Channels.”
