U.S. Attorney: Methuen Man, 28, in Court for Fentanyl Sale at Local Restaurant

A Methuen man was charged with selling more than 40 grams of fentanyl Wednesday at a local restaurant.

Twenty-eight-year-old Alexsander Padro appeared in federal court in Boston Thursday and was detained pending a further hearing. The U.S. attorney’s office alleged Padro sold more than 40 grams of fentanyl to “a cooperating source” at a Methuen restaurant. Prosecutors also allege Padro sold more than 40 grams of fentanyl to undercover officer last March and $1,000 worth of fentanyl to an undercover officer last April.

He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years and up to 40 years in prison, a minimum of four years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of $5 million.
