The Rocks Village bridge on the Haverhill-West Newbury line has officially reopened to vehicular traffic after a Friday accident necessitated an emergency closure and structural repairs.
A Massachusetts Department of Transportation spokesman told WHAV the bridge remains closed to marine traffic and that road crews are conducting minor repairs to the bridge during daytime hours Monday. Alternate lane closures are expected.
As WHAV previously reported, the bridge was closed after a vehicle carrying a dumpster tipped over on the bridge, damaging the passage over the Merrimack River.
