Today’s Obituaries—July 3: Ash, Viens

Melvin Ash, 96, of Haverhill, died after a long fight with declining health.
Born in Dorchester and raised in Haverhill, Ash served in the Air Force during World War II and worked as a retail manager for Grad’s of Haverhill and Snyder Leather of Brighton. A funeral service is planned for Sunday, July 7 at 10 a.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial is in Haverhill’s Children of Israel Cemetery.

Geraldine A. (Chevalier) Viens, 75, of Bradford, died Friday morning, June 28, at her residence, surrounded by family. She worked at Honeywell, Hewlett Packard and Innerstep. Calling hours are Sunday, July 7 from 1-4 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. Her funeral is Monday, July 8 beginning at 10 a.m. at the Bradford funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Burial is in Elmwood Cemetery, Bradford.
