Today’s Obituaries—June 26: Patsy Schena, 82, Former Groveland Building Inspector

Pat Schena, 82, died tragically at his home on Friday, June 21. Born in Haverhill, Schena served six years in the Army reserves and owned Pat Schena Quality Carpenter and Builder and constructed homes across the state for more than 40 years. He worked as Groveland’s building inspector and zoning enforcement officer for 36 years.

A devoted father of two daughters, Schena took great joy in caring for his grandkids. He loved to travel and enjoyed antiquing in his retirement.

He is survived by his daughters Michele A. Schena of Groveland and Brenda J. Schena of Amesbury; two beloved grandchildren, Addison Antonio Williams and Aaron Roselli Williams; his former wife and friend, Peggy L. (Waning) Schena of Merrimac; a brother, John Schena of Nashua, N.H.; sister-in-law, Rita Schena of Cupertino, Calif.; a nephew, Bruce Schena of Menlo Park, Calif.; and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Valerie A. Schena, brother Michael Schena and sister-in-law Gertrude Schena

Calling hours are Friday, June 28 from 4-8 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin Saturday morning at 9 a.m. in the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 114 Center St., Groveland. Burial follows in Linwood Cemetery, John Ward Avenue, Haverhill.
