Haverhill Public Meetings: Week of June 24

The George F. Cogswell School was built in 1891. It is located at 351 S. Main St.

The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week.

Tuesday, June 25

The City Council meets in regular session at 7 p.m. in room 202 of City Hall, 4 Summer St., Haverhill. See separate story.

Wednesday, June 26

The Merrimack Valley Planning Commission meets from noon-1:30 p.m., at 160 Main St. Among the topics to be discussed are status of roadway and bridge projects and transit projects.

Haverhill Commission on Disabilities Issues meets at 1:30 p.m., in room 3 of Haverhill City Hall. Topics include handicapped access outside of downtown storefronts where outdoor dining exists.

At 7 p.m., the city’s Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Commission meets. Discussion is expected to include an update on the second phase of the memorial project, and a discussion of an upcoming third phase.

Thursday, June 27

Bradford Common Historic District Commission meets at 6 p.m., at Cogswell Art Space, 351 S. Main St., to learn about the conversion of the former Cogswell School into an arts center and review various renovation projects, including 289 S. main St. (former Merrill-Horne House) and 352 S. Main St. (former Benjamin Greenleaf House).

The Rocks Village Historic District Commission meets at 7 p.m., at the Hand Tub House, River Road, Rocks Village, Haverhill, to discuss a neighbor’s request to replace windows and a slider.
