WHAV was the only media outlet at the game as Haverhill Police standouts Officer Matthew Marshall, Officer John Orsillo and Sgt. Thomas Howell helped the first responder team beat the Super Bowl champion Patriots, led by Max Lane and Steve DeOssie.

Rounding out the police team were Officers Nicole Donnelly, Brittney Birch, Kevin O’Brien, Carlos Arriaga, Bryan Bailey, Kevin DeCarvalho, Ryan Connolly, Justin Graham, Kevin Tracy and Daniel McDonald.

Haverhill Police Department Relief Association Vice President Eric MacKinnon, who served as the team captain, told WHAV he was thrilled to have the Patriots return to Haverhill Stadium for the sixth year in a row.

“We love having the Patriots here and it’s a great family day where people can get to know officers outside of the job,” MacKinnon said.

Food for the game was donated by Fantini Bakery and Haverhill Beef, with proceeds from ticket and food sales going to the Haverhill Police Relief Association, the group’s president Officer James Keenan said.

The police department’s next citywide event is Aug. 6’s National Night Out, expected to take place at Swasey Field.
