A Mexican national living in Haverhill was taken into custody by the Department of Homeland Security and faces deportation after being sentenced in a Boston federal court for passport fraud.

United States District Court Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV sentenced 52-year-old Patricia Cedeno-Larios to time served and sent her into administrative custody Tuesday, the Department of Justice confirmed to WHAV.

Her sentence comes six months after she pleaded guilty to making false statements in a passport application.

According to U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling’s office, Cedeno Larios entered a Boston post office in March 2008 using the name, date of birth and Social Security number of a U.S. citizen from Puerto Rico in an attempt to obtain a U.S. passport.
