Doris E. (Goodridge) Meredith, 99, of Groveland and a former longtime resident of Marblehead, died peacefully in her sleep early Tuesday morning, May 21, at Avita of Newburyport. Before starting a family, she was employed as a secretary for David H. Smith and at General Electric, Lynn. There will be a celebration of cife at Clifton Lutheran Church, 150 Humphrey St., Marblehead, on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. in honor of her 100th birthday. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill and Bradford.
Sandra Lee (Desmarias) Sovie, 71, died at Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport May 23 with her family by her side. Sovie lived her entire life in Haverhill and loved her city. She was employed for 27 years at Chesterton Manufacturing and the last 10 years at Walmart. Funeral services are private, with arrangements by the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill.
