Today’s Obituaries—May 20: Colten, Prolman

Stanley Colten, 80, a longtime Haverhill resident and local figure, died peacefully on Thursday, May 16, surrounded by loved ones. A U.S. Army veteran, Colten worked in private security, providing services for malls and casinos and had several security divisions including a K-9 unit with 30 dogs. Colten was also a familiar face around Haverhill, serving as the outside safety monitor at Hunking School. Graveside services with U.S. Army Honors were held Sunday, May 19, in Woburn’s Independent Pride of Boston Cemetery.

Barbara (Feifer) Prolman, 73, of Methuen, died Saturday, May 18, at her residence. A registered dietician and teacher, she was employed at Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical High School for more than 10 years and also worked for 15 years at the former Bon Secours/Holy Family Hospital. A graveside service is planned for Tuesday morning, May 21 at 11 a.m. in Methuen’s Elmwood Cemetery, with arrangements by the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Homes, Haverhill & Bradford.
