Today’s Obituaries—May 6: Robert N. Bergeron, 72, Friday Accident Victim

Robert N. Bergeron, 72, of Haverhill, died May 3, at Lawrence General Hospital, after being struck by an automobile. He was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Trafton) Bergeron.

Born in Haverhill, Sept., 17, 1946, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Therrien) Bergeron and was a graduate of Pentucket Regional High School Class of 1964. He owned and operated Coastal Metal Finishing,n Merrimac, ,and Eastern Finishing and Powder Coating, Georgetown.

Bergeron was a member of the Ridgerunners Club in Bradford. He was a former member of Merrimac Lion’s Club and served as the president of the Club, “King Lion,” for one term. He was also a long-time member at Haverhill Country Club where he loved to golf with friends and colleagues. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Bruins and the New York Giants.

He leaves his wife Kathleen of Haverhill; two sons, Robert Bergeron of Newton, N.H., and Scott Bergeron and his wife Anne of Plaistow, N.H.; step-son Brian Dinges and wife Katie of Haverhill; two step daughters, Lisa Pepin and husband Justin of Fremont, N.H., and Lisa Senter of Methuen; brother, Stephen Giardini of Haverhill; four grandchildren, Matthew Bergeron and Jacquelyn Barrett of Plaistow, N.H., and Michael and Ashley Dinges of Haverhill, along with extended family and friends.

Visiting hours are Thursday, May 9, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the Monument Square Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 334 Main St., Haverhill, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 7 p.m. In lieu of Flowers, donations in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
