Longtime Haverhill Police Officer Daniel Trocki is ready for change at City Hall—so much so that he’s throwing his hat in the ring and running for mayor in next fall’s municipal election.

During a Thursday night meeting of the Haverhill Republican City Committee attended by Republican Party Chairman Jim Lyons and former Haverhill mayor William H. Ryan, Trocki confirmed his candidacy and ushered in his campaign with the slogan “time for change.”

A Haverhill native, Trocki is a married father of two young children. He currently serves as the vice president of the Haverhill Police Patrolman’s Association and works as a patrolman in the city’s Acre and Mount Washington neighborhoods.

Candidates for public office are officially able to file paperwork with the City Clerk’s office starting May 1. Trocki is the first to announce his intention to run against Haverhill’s longest-serving mayor James J. Fiorentini, who was sworn in for his eighth two-year term in January 2018.
