A Trivia Night fundraiser to benefit Haverhill teachers’ creative classroom projects takes place Saturday, April 27, at Barking Dog Ale House in downtown Haverhill.
Check-in begins at 6:30 p.m. with the competition starting at 7. Before April 19, the Early Bird entry fee is $30 per person. Afterward, the fee is $35 per person. Teams of two to 10 members are required to register and pay the entry fee in advance by going to the Foundation’s web site at HaverhillEducationFoundation.org or by calling 978-697-5620 for a registration form. First prize is $300, second prize is $100 and third prize is $50. There will also be a special Haverhill round with a prize of $50.
Trivia Night is presented by the Haverhill Education Foundation in partnership with Haverhill Education Coalition. Money raised is used to award mini-grants. Since 2018, the foundation has awarded more than $9,000 in 32 grants of up to $300 each for projects of the teacher’s own design to enhance students’ educational experiences.
The Haverhill Education Foundation is an all-volunteer, non-profit, tax exempt organization which supports programs and projects in the Haverhill Public Schools. The last Trivia Night raised more than $2,500 to help support education in the Haverhill Public Schools. Besides the mini-grant program, the Foundation has supported the Haverhill High Model UN team, Discovery Club after-school and summer program, Haverhill Robotics and the District Parent Council Write Away Contest.
