The centennial anniversary of women winning the constitutional right to vote will be celebrated during a program proposed by Buttonwoods Museum and the Haverhill League of Women Voters.

The program is one of 30 events to receive a grant this year from the Haverhill Cultural Council. Others include a Curated Art Walk in Downtown Haverhill by the Switchboard, Hip Hop and Spoken Word Project and Popcorn Roulette Movie Nights by John-Michael Gariepy. Groups share $34,228 in state money distributed by the Council. A full list appears below.

Each recipient has an opportunity to describe programs during a reception at the Haverhill Citizens Center, Wednesday, May 15, at 7 p.m. Besides displays and performances, there will be light snacks and opportunities to learn more and volunteer.

Alison Colby-Campbell and Hartell Johnson were recently elected as chair and vice chair respectively. Others elected were Nathan Webster as treasurer and Kaitlin Wright as secretary.
