Charles H. Dowd, 91, of Haverhill, passed away at his home Saturday, March 23. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a corporal aboard the USS Alabama and O.H. Ernst. He was a celebrated sharp-shooter and one of the first to respond after the bombing of Hiroshima. He worked as a self-employed delivery man for many years, and his favorite job was working for Flowers by Steve, Ward Hill. Calling hours are at Kevin B.
