Today’s Obituaries: March 21

Isidro Vargas Bourdier, 79, died March 19 at Lawrence General Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Sabana del Puerto, Bonao, Dominican Republic, he moved to Haverhill in 1986, where he was employed with Fantini Bakery until his retirement in 2009. He is survived by a large loving family that includes his grandson, state Rep. Andy Vargas. Calling hours are Saturday, March 23 from 2-6 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill, followed by a funeral service at the funeral home.

Fannie (Fourtzialas) Ross, 92, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died peacefully surrounded by family on March 19 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. She and her husband owned and operated the former Atlas Market in Haverhill for over 30 years. Ross was also the choir director for the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Haverhill. Visitation is Friday, March 22 from 10-11 a.m. at the Holy Apostles Sts. Peter & Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 154 Winter St., Haverhill. Her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with burial in Haverhill’s Linwood Cemetery.
