Three Receive Injuries After Box Truck Collides With SUV in Georgetown

A Friday morning accident on Georgetown’s Route 133 sent three people to area hospitals for injuries said to range from minor to serious, Massachusetts State Police tell WHAV.

The accident took place around 10 a.m. March 15 when police say a 2018 Ford SUV and 2015 Isuzu box truck collided near Route 133 and Route 95 in Georgetown. Police said the SUV’s driver, a 79-year-old woman, and her 83-year-old male passenger—both of Georgetown—were taken to Newburyport’s Anna Jaques Hospital for minor and serious injuries respectively.

The 22-year-old Gloucester man driving the box truck was also taken to Anna Jaques before being medflighted to Boston’s Tufts Medical Center for further treatment of serious injuries.

State Police—with the assistance of Georgetown Police—continue to investigate and no charges have been filed as of Friday afternoon.
