A man shot during an early morning party at a Methuen hookah shop is receiving treatment at a Boston hospital after police say shots were fired in the area of 170 Broadway around 3 a.m. Friday. Police Chief Joseph E. Solomon tells WHAV the 30-year-old victim’s injuries are critical and “life threatening.”
Solomon said a preliminary investigation into the March 15 shooting suggests that gunfire took place at a gathering at the Mr. Hookah vape shop. The shooting was not a random act of violence and believed to be specifically related to a prior incident at that location, Solomon said.
A gun was recovered and police, including K-9 team Officer Michael Havey Jr. and his dog Rumi, continue to investigate the area on Broadway near Oakland Avenue.
