Retired Haverhill Firefighter Arnold F. “Arnie” Hargraves Jr., 76, of Hampstead N.H., died Thursday, Feb. 28 at Exeter Hospital, Exeter, N.H., after a battle with cancer. A graduate of Pentucket Regional High School and North Shore Community College’s fire science program, Hargraves joined the Haverhill Fire Department in 1969, retiring in 2004 as a captain. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 5 from 4-7 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service is Wednesday, March 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial is in the Firefighters Memorial section of Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.

Louisa M. “Mary” (Holt) Sullivan, 89, died with her family by her side on Friday, March 1 at the High Pointe Hospice in Haverhill after a period of declining health. Born in Methuen, she settled in Bradford after marrying her husband of 67 years Joe. The couple owned and operated Merrimack Valley Investments in downtown Haverhill for 40 years until their retirement. Calling hours are Tuesday, March 5 from 4-7 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services take place Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial follows in St. James Cemetery, Primrose Street, Haverhill.
