Cakes by Erin’s Erin Erler is ready to bring home additional bragging rights—and hopefully a $10,000 check—when she competes on the Food Network for a fifth time Monday night on the Giada De Laurentiis-hosted “Winner Cake All.”

Tasked with making a performance-themed cake and matching topper for comedian Loni Love, Erler and fellow Cakes by Erin baker Christine Barton had six hours to complete the challenge. As Erler told WHAV, she and fellow Hillie Barton were happy with their creation, all things considered.

“It’s a crazy accomplishment to look at it and think ‘I just made that in five hours.’ But then you look at it and go, ‘I could have done so much better with more time.’ It’s bittersweet.”

Erler, who faced off against three teams from across the country when filming in October, told WHAV she’d prefer to have 24 hours to create a similar cake at her shop.

Monday night marks Barton’s first appearance on the Food Network after coming to Cakes By Erin five years ago as a Johnson and Wales intern.

For Barton, a first-time victory would be, well, icing on the cake. After all, Boston is the city of champions, she hints.

“For us, winning would be a big deal. In Boston, we love to win, so anytime we get a chance to bring something home, we definitely want to take any chance we can get.”

Winner Cake All featuring Cakes By Erin’s Erler and Barton airs Monday, Feb. 25 at 10 p.m. on the Food Network. Their nut-free bakery celebrates their first anniversary in their new space at 800 Broadway later this month.
