Bruce L. Richardson, Sr. 79, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully, Saturday, February 2, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband for 59 years to Margaret (Sayers) Richardson. Bruce was born in Amesbury, MA February 27, 1939 the son of the late Lester and Athleen (Daggett) Richardson.
Bruce was raised in Haverhill after moving from Newton, NH at five years old. He was a lifelong resident of the city and a graduate of Haverhill High School. Bruce later graduated from the University of Massachusetts and was a Certified Tree Arborist. He was employed with Retelle Tree in Andover and later the town of North Andover for over 25 years as an Arborist. He enjoyed time with family, gardening, and was an avid collector of model trains. Bruce amassed an enormous and impressive collection of model trains throughout the years. He enjoyed frequenting flea markets in search of the next addition to his train collection. He loved working in his yard and planting flowers. Bruce will be forever remembered by his family and countless friends.
Bruce is survived by his loving and devoted wife Margaret “Peggy” Richardson of Haverhill, six children, Laurie Dovey, Bruce Richardson, JR and wife Diane, Timothy Richardson, Daniel Richardson, Roxann Richardson and Shaun Richardson and wife Dianne. He will also be dearly remembered by thirteen grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Timothy, Lona, Kyle, Prescilla, Bradley, Melissa, Nicholas, Lindsey, Allison and Eric and two great-grandchildren Daniel and Kaiden. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Tiffany.
A private graveside service will be held in the spring.
