Mary L. “Mary Lou” (Blinn) Dinges, 83, died surrounded by her family Friday, Jan. 25 at Wingate at Haverhill. A lifelong resident of the city, Dinges fostered over 100 children during her lifetime and had four children of her own. Calling hours are Thursday, Jan. 31 from 4-7 p.m. at The Grondin-Carnevale Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill. A funeral mass will be held Friday at noon from All Saints Parish, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial will take place in Linwood Cemetery.
Aurea L. (Cartier) DiProfio, 98, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died January 26 in Haverhill. Formerly employed in the city’s shoe industry, DiProfio retired with more than 25 years of service from AT&T as an inspector. Calling hours and a life celebration are planned for Thursday, Jan. 31 from 4-7 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will begin on Friday at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.
Retired Haverhill Police Officer Allan Peter “Butch” Hills, 79, died unexpectedly on Jan. 27 with his wife and children by his side after complications from heart surgery at Florida’s Boca Raton Regional Hospital. Hills, who split his time between Boynton Beach, Fla., and Atkinson, N.H., previously lived in Bradford and was employed as a Haverhill Police Department patrolman from 1972-1991. After retiring, he worked as a groundskeeper at the Bradford and Atkinson Country Clubs. Calling hours are on Saturday, Feb. 16 from 1-4 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford. A private graveside service with naval honors will be conducted in Atkinson, in the spring.
Sheila C. (Halloran) Perry, 81, a lifelong resident of Haverhill, died peacefully on Monday, Jan. 29. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 4, in the Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., Haverhill from 4-7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, in Sacred Hearts Church, 165 South Main St. at 10 a.m. Burial follows in Elmwood Cemetery, Salem Street, Haverhill.
