Six members of the Nettle School community had a scary experience Monday when they were trapped in one of the building’s elevators for at least 30 minutes, Haverhill Fire Department Chief William Laliberty tells WHAV.

Laliberty said the group’s ordeal ended when representatives from the elevator company arrived with custom tools to open the door. The elevator was then fully assessed for safety and repairs made before being placed back in service.
