UPDATE: DA’s Office Identifies Haverhill Man, 59, Killed in Friday Hit-and-Run

UPDATE: The man killed in Friday’s accident has been identified as 59-year-old Haverhill resident Charles Burrill, the Essex County District Attorney’s office tells WHAV. Police are searching for a silver or gray PT Cruiser wanted in connection with the incident.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Haverhill and State Police are investigating an early Friday morning accident that left a male pedestrian dead. According to Essex County District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett’s office, the accident happened at 5:14 a.m.

Officials were assessing the crash scene at intersection of Main and Water Streets—near Central Plaza in the area known as White’s Corner—at the peak of Friday morning’s rush hour. Representatives from the state medical examiner’s office arrived just after 8 a.m.

The victim has not yet been identified.
