Lowell native Eusebio Marote is ready to kick things into high gear at Northern Essex Community College as the school’s new soccer coach. A 2017 graduate of Daniel Webster College, Marote holds a degree in sport and fitness administration and management.

According to Northern Essex Athletics Director Dan Blair, Marote begins his role on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Blair told WHAV in a statement that he’s thrilled with the soccer experience Marote brings to the college.

“He has come to us highly regarded as a young up and coming coach who I believe will do an outstanding job building a successful program from the ground up,” Blair said of Marote, who has previous experience coaching the Hampshire United Soccer Club, Sidekick Soccer Academy and Portuguese American Soccer Academy.

Under Marote’s leadership, the revamped soccer team plans to take the field in fall 2019 for the first time since the college disbanded the National Junior College Athletic Association program in the mid-1990s.
