The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week.

Tuesday, Jan. 22

MassHire’s Merrimack Valley Workforce Board convenes at 7:30 a.m. at Methuen’s Comfort Home Care, 147 Pelham St., to discuss planning, hear committee reports from Youth and Finance Committee representatives and more during the quarterly meeting.

Haverhill City Assessor Christine M. Webb’s Board of Assessors meets to discuss new business from 11:30 a.m.-12: 30 p.m. in room 115 of City Hall, 4 Summer St.

A basic rights’ training is offered in Spanish during the Haverhill Special Education Parent Advisory Council’s 6 p.m. session in the Haverhill High School library, 137 Monument St.

Wednesday, Jan. 23

The latest on cable service provider negotiations with Comcast is discussed Wednesday night at the city’s Cable TV Advisory Committee meeting, held in room 301 of City Hall starting at 6 p.m.

Illegal hunting on Atlanta Street is on the agenda for the Public Safety Committee’s 7 p.m. session in the Theodore A. Pelosi Jr. City Council Chambers, room 202 of City Hall. A discussion on the city’s emergency management plan related to generators is expected to also take place.

Members of Haverhill’s Vietnam Memorial Ad Hoc Commission convene for the first time since founding member John E. Ratka’s death Wednesday. Ongoing fundraising efforts and new business will be discussed in room 301 of City Hall at 7 p.m.
